On September 26, Guo Qingren, chairman of Tianye Group, told the reporter: “The calcium carbide slag desulphurization device has independent intellectual property rights and has broken foreign monopoly. At present, it has obtained 8 invention patents and 25 new-use patents, and is listed by the Ministry of Science and Technology as Science and technology support key projects."


According to reports, after the Tianye Group's 1.2 million tons of PVC engineering support project was launched last year, the group cooperated with Zhejiang University on the cooperation of production, research and development of flue gas desulfurization technology. Based on the research results of the “863 Program” of the country, this set of carbide slag desulfurization equipment was developed.


Cheng Changjie, a senior engineer at the Institute of Environmental Engineering, Zhejiang University, said that the device is at the domestic advanced level in terms of project investment, operating costs, and desulfurization efficiency, and has demonstration and promotion significance.


At present, Tianye Group's 4 x 135 MW power plant with its own power plant has used calcium carbide slag desulphurization. It is estimated that it will reduce the emission of sulfur dioxide by about 30,000 tons and reduce dust emissions by about 2,000 tons annually.
