In 2012, Bosch will launch a new product based on the market-proven ZOH caliper upgrade. In the new generation of ZOHe (Bosch Zero Offset Design Plus), the engineering team further improved the caliper stiffness and the guidance system of the friction lining and caliper body. These new features ensure that the ZOHe brake caliper can run accurately and smoothly. When the brake is in the released state, the caliper will be in the optimal symmetrical position. This has two advantages: First, it can maintain a small free play and the pedal feel is improved. Second, the brake residual torque is reduced, which reduces the running resistance and wear of the friction plates. What's more, ZOHe brakes have better noise reduction and damping performance. With cast iron jaws, ZOHe weighs 5% less than existing products. If cast aluminium material is used, the ZOHe weight can be further reduced by 7%.

The new generation of ZOHe can be fitted on the front or rear axle and can be equipped with single or double pistons as required. The scope of application covers a wide range of models from small cars to light trucks. For rear axle brakes, Bosch offers a variety of solutions, one of which uses a motor integrated in the ZOHe caliper to achieve parking; the other solution is to use manpower or a motor to drive the parking cable, further by the resident. The car pull drives the mechanism in the ZOHe brake to achieve parking. Advanced simulation software was used in the development of the new caliper. It helps engineers reduce the weight of the caliper while also increasing stiffness. This is a key factor in improving the braking performance and pedal feel. In addition to caliper brakes, Bosch chassis brake systems also produce brake discs, drum brakes, boosters and brake master cylinders.
