It is reported that the new office name is Cooper Tire & Rubber Co. Brasil Fabricação, Importacao e Distribuicao de Pneus Ltda., the first sales office established by Cooper in Latin America.
The office’s general manager is Durval Amaral. He has worked as an industry consultant for Goodyear for the past 28 years and is familiar with the Brazilian, Venezuelan, and U.S. markets. He left Goodyear at the end of 2012 and Cooper in 2015.
Luis Ceneviz, the managing director of Cooper Latin America's tire business unit, stated: “Cooper has established an excellent core leadership team with several years of experience in the industry and a deep understanding of the Latin American market."
Luis Ceneviz previously served as an executive at Apollo Tires and Goodyear. In February 2015, he took over the Cooper Latin America Tire Business Unit and was responsible for Cooper's Mexican, Central American, and South American markets.
In 2014, Cooper issued a statement saying that as part of its global development strategy, Latin America’s business growth plans to sell 4 to 5 million units in 2020.
It is reported that Cooper has more than 20 sales agents in Latin America and the Caribbean.
