Flyability has made a remarkable journey in just under five years. The company, founded by two individuals in 2014, has grown to over 85 full-time employees and is now recognized as the market leader in indoor drones and a key player in industrial robotics. This recent award is a testament to their rapid growth and industry impact.

Specializing in a technically demanding segment of the drone market, Flyability has built a global customer base of more than 400 companies across various industries. Their drones have been deployed in some of the most challenging environments, from inspecting the Chernobyl nuclear site to exploring the Greenland ice cap to study climate change. Additionally, Flyability’s technology is used in over 50% of U.S. nuclear power plants, helping to ensure safety and efficiency in critical infrastructure.

"Our mission goes beyond building drones," says Patrick Thévoz, CEO of Flyability. "We are focused on improving worker safety, reducing operational downtime, and preventing major disasters. As a pioneer in this space, we’ve faced not only technical challenges but also the need to deeply understand our market to develop the right solutions. The success of our latest product line is largely driven by the insights we’ve gathered directly from our customers."

The future looks promising for Flyability, which recently won the 2019 TOP 100 SWISS STARTUP AWARD. With over 50% revenue growth this year and participation in the prestigious DARPA challenge, the company is pushing the boundaries of automation. "In the long run, we aim to provide our clients with actionable data about the condition of their infrastructure without requiring human involvement or even awareness of how the data was collected," Thévoz adds.
