Han Shangwei, former manager of the Northern Territory of the Norwegian Classification Society, believes that China's shipbuilding industry now has certain independent design and construction capabilities, but overall, the overall level is roughly 15 years from Japan, and the gap with South Korea is 10 years. The design capability of the basic ship type of Chinese shipyards is poor and limited. Third, some production equipment is seriously aging, and resource utilization efficiency is low.
