New Digital Prototyping Suites Offer Manufacturers an Affordable, Comprehensive Toolset
Autodesk has launched new Digital Prototyping software tailored for manufacturers, providing cost-effective access to the full range of Autodesk tools. The 2015 Autodesk Manufacturing design suites include the Autodesk Product Design Suite (PrDS), the Autodesk Factory Design Suite (FDS), data management solutions, and a robust Simulation and software portfolio.

The 2015 design suites come in several editions—Standard (FDS only), Ultimate, and Premium (FDS and PrDS). Both versions feature an enhanced version of Autodesk Inventor, offering powerful improvements to the 3D modeling environment and productivity features based on customer feedback.
Autodesk Product Design Suite Enhances Product Development with Advanced Modeling Tools
In the 2015 release, the Product Design Suite introduces Freeform and Direct Edit modeling, along with improved Sketch tools. These features allow users to quickly create and explore freeform models, modify imported solid models or native files, and shape sketches more efficiently using new constraint tools.

The new Direct Editing tool allows easy manipulation of geometry, enabling users to move, scale, rotate, and delete parts with greater flexibility.
The Inventor learning experience has also been improved, featuring a personal dashboard and guided tutorials that help users master key workflows faster. Enhancements to parts, assemblies, and drawings further boost efficiency.

The 2015 Autodesk Factory Design Suite offers factory customers interoperable layout workflows, cloud-based assets, and advanced visualization tools to improve accuracy and communication. New features include easier migration from legacy systems, extended use of Point Clouds via Autodesk ReCap, and improved Bill of Materials capabilities.

The 2015 Simulation family includes Autodesk Simulation Mechanical, CFD, Moldflow, and Composites, all designed to integrate smoothly into every stage of product development. Updates include intuitive workflows, enhanced accuracy in mold flow analysis, and support for Linux systems in Simulation Moldflow.
The new heat sink model enables detailed system-level thermal analysis and accurate chip temperature predictions
In Simulation CFD 2015, the solver now accounts for evaporation, boiling, and other fluid behaviors, making it easier for engineers to simulate real-world conditions.
