**How to Destroy Your Yanmar Engine and Get Your Core Credit**
If you're looking to get a core credit for your old Yanmar engine, there are specific steps you need to follow. This guide will walk you through the process so that you can properly destroy your engine and submit the required documentation.
First, remove the riveted metal engine tag and the emissions control information sticker. These two items must be attached to the “Replacement Engine Record†form. Be sure to check the box that says “engine scrapped in the field.†Then, sign and date the form at the bottom.
Next, make sure to strategically place a 2-inch hole in the engine block above the engraved serial number. This is an important step to ensure that the engine is considered destroyed and not reusable.
After that, take five clear pictures of the following:
1. The metal riveted engine tag
2. The emissions control sticker
3. The block with the 2-inch hole and the serial number
4. The complete engine block
5. The completed “Replacement Engine Record†form

It typically takes about four weeks from the time we receive the paperwork for us to process everything and issue your core credit. Make sure to keep a copy of everything for your records.
