GM resumes double-digit growth in China

In October 2015, GM and its joint ventures achieved 327,037 retail sales in the Chinese market, up 15% year-on-year, and achieved double-digit year-on-year growth, which also set a new record for the same period. From January to October this year, GM and its joint ventures sold a total of 2,819,465 retail sales in China, a year-on-year increase of 2.9%, a record high.

SUVs, MPVs and luxury cars remain the troika of GM's growth in the Chinese market. Thanks to the continued popularity of Buick Angkewei and Baojun 560, sales of GM's SUV models surged 255% year-on-year in October.

The two new models of Yinglang and Angkewei played a key role, among which Buick's new Yinglang sales more than doubled year-on-year.

The Cadillac brand hit another record high in October, up 23% year-on-year to 5,757 units. Among them, ATS-L sales have set a new record. Last month, the new Cadillac ATS-L, featuring the new 8-speed automatic manual transmission, was the first model in the country to be equipped with Angie Star's 4GLTE function.

In October, Baojun brand sales once again set a new record, with a 113% increase from the previous year to 51,589 units. According to the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers, Baojun 560 won the second place in China's best-selling SUV list in the three months since its listing on July 18 this year.

Affected by product upgrades, Chevrolet brand sales in October decreased by 8.4% year-on-year to 51,173 units. On October 20th, the Chevrolet brand launched a new Mai Rui Bao.

Affected by the continued downturn in the mini-commercial vehicle market, Wuling's sales in China fell 6.8% year-on-year to 116,786 units.

Intensive release of new cars

In October, the new ATS-L and the new Mai Rui Bao will be released. On the eve of the Guangzhou Auto Show on November 18, the SAIC General Motors Buick brand will also arrange the official launch of the Buick Weilang Coupe/Weilang GS, at which time the price will be announced.
