Yesterday afternoon, Cicero experienced a house fire at 2523 58th Ave. Thankfully, the Cicero Fire Department responded swiftly and managed to contain the situation before it escalated further. Josh Boyajian, who happened to be nearby, rushed to the scene shortly after the fire was largely extinguished. He captured several photographs and provided a concise account of what he observed.
When the firefighters arrived, they noticed thick smoke emanating from the basement of the affected home. Engine 2 quickly deployed two lines of water to combat the flames, successfully putting out the fire. By the time Josh got there, the emergency personnel were already winding down their operations.
