In Division 24, the Homewood Fire Department has recently been added to the site. Covering a 5-square-mile area, they operate with a mix of career and part-time firefighters. Their fleet includes apparatus from Pierce, Smeal, Crimson, and 3D. One unique feature of their station is the variety of chassis manufacturers represented. For instance, their Pierce pumper uses a Lance chassis, while they also have a cab and chassis from HME, Spartan, and Pemfab. In addition to two ambulances, they share a reserve ambulance with Flossmoor and Hazel Crest, which is located at the Hazel Crest station. All images were submitted by Karl Klotz.

This week, the department made a notable move by selling their 1982 Mack MR engine to Ford Heights. Looking ahead, they are set to receive a brand-new aerial ladder truck from Pierce in March of next year. These updates reflect the ongoing evolution of their fleet and commitment to modernization. The department continues to serve its community with a blend of tradition and innovation, ensuring they remain well-equipped for future challenges.
Ultra-violet Fluorescent Pigments
Anti-forgery fluorescent pigment is a special invisible fluorescent powder,it is also called ultra-violet fluorescent pigment(Ultraviolet chromogenic pigment).
