The 130,000-ton-per-year aniline project, backed by the Shanxi Tianji Group, has been in the planning and construction phase for over a year. This year marked a major turning point as the project entered its critical equipment installation stage in March. The company is now on track to conduct a joint test and begin chemical feeding in June, signaling a significant milestone in the project’s development. Tianji Group introduced the concept of “synchronized development, both internally and externally,” which led to the realization of this large-scale aniline project. This marks a strategic shift for the group from inorganic to organic chemicals, expanding its industrial footprint. The facility is composed of two main sections—nitrobenzene and aniline—and both are equipped with cutting-edge technologies from around the world. Currently, the market price of aniline raw materials has dropped, while the demand for aniline is expected to grow steadily. Once fully operational, the project will become a new source of revenue for Tianji Group, helping to counteract the pressure from rising chemical fertilizer raw material costs and falling fertilizer prices. Construction on the aniline project began at the end of 2004, and the progress has been impressive. The infrastructure was completed in February of this year, and the project has now moved into the crucial phase of equipment installation. To ensure timely completion, the group launched a “120-day intensive operation” campaign, aiming to finish the project and start production by June. The campaign emphasized a race against time to secure a competitive edge in the market. According to the schedule, all equipment installation is expected to be completed by April 30. Process pipeline installation will wrap up by May 31, and the public utility pipeline network will be finished by June 15. Trial operations are set to begin on June 30, marking the official start of the project's commercial production.
