This breakthrough system reduces energy consumption by over 70% compared to traditional methods. The company offers two product lines that utilize this technology: the PAP series of precision air conditioners and the PEC series of chillers.
The PAP series is designed for temperature regulation in precision machining environments, such as those involving molds and spherical components. It ensures stable thermal conditions for both devices and workpieces, which is crucial for maintaining high accuracy. In semiconductor manufacturing, particularly during protective layer coating processes, the PAP series helps maintain precise environmental and liquid temperatures, ensuring consistent film thickness.
The PEC series, on the other hand, is ideal for applications requiring extreme temperature control. It can manage temperatures ranging from -60°C to +60°C with a high level of precision—±0.05°C. This makes it suitable for advanced research and industrial applications where thermal stability is critical.
Orion's heat pump balancing control technology leverages principles similar to those found in household water heaters. Unlike conventional heat pumps that only transfer heat in one direction, this system integrates both heating and cooling mechanisms within a single compressor. This allows for continuous refrigeration cycles without relying on electric heaters, significantly reducing energy usage.
To further enhance efficiency, Orion has improved the piping system and control algorithms, enabling more even distribution of refrigerant. As a result, the system can respond dynamically to changes in heat generation. A typical PAP model consumes just 3.2 kW, saving 73% more energy than a PID-controlled precision air conditioner with electric heaters. Similarly, the PEC series features a DC brushless motor, boosting efficiency by about 30% compared to models using AC servomotors.
The PAP series includes three models with airflow rates of 5, 10, and 20 m³/min, available with or without HEPA filters. Prices range from 2,020,000 to 6,040,000 yen (tax included). These units operate between 18°C and 30°C with ±0.1°C temperature accuracy. The PEC series is priced at 1,722,000 yen (tax included) and provides precise temperature control within a wide range, making it a versatile solution for demanding industrial and scientific applications.
