After evaluating a number of vendors, Ocean University chose Caterpillar's two MaK 9 M 25 C and one MaK 6 M 20 C generator set to power Dongfanghong 3.
“The DNV GL Silent-R has very strict limits on all equipment on board, whether it is underwater noise or structural noise,†said Stephan Kroening, a noise vibration expert at Caterpillar. “We used a double compartment.
