April 12, 2016 – ExxonMobil announced the successful completion of the Taicang Lubricant Plant expansion project, doubling capacity, which will help meet China's growing demand for lubricants in the long run.
Taicang Lubricating Oil Plant Expansion Project Successfully Completed
The expansion of this production facility includes the addition of new automated deployment technologies, the establishment of a new advanced quality control laboratory, and the construction of new storage facilities and supporting infrastructure. Taicang Factory has now become one of the largest plants in ExxonMobil's global network of finished lubricants.

"The energy demand of China's transportation is expected to increase by about 80% by 2040. We are now fully ready to supply the Mobil brand lubricants to the Chinese market for a wide range of automotive, industrial and marine applications." The expansion of the Lubricating Oil Plant is another milestone after the completion of the expansion of the Tianjin Lubricant Plant and the opening of the Asia Pacific Lubrication Technology Center at the ExxonMobil Shanghai R&D Center not long ago, demonstrating that ExxonMobil is always committed to serving its customers in China. The expansion project lasted for three years. During this period, ExxonMobil complied with the highest standards of operational excellence, environmental protection and safety, and achieved more than 900,000 working hours without accidents.
