Hey everyone,
This just came in from Josh Boyajian. There was a fire in McCook last night around 9:55 PM near the intersection of West 95th Street and Sergo Avenue. When the first companies arrived on the scene, they found flames inside a massive 200-by-50-foot non-combustible structure. Initially, the call was dispatched as an Automatic Fire Alarm (AFA), but it quickly escalated, prompting McCook to upgrade to a Full Still Alarm. This brought additional resources from neighboring areas to assist.
As the situation unfolded, command requested support from MABAS Division 10’s investigator team and their Mobile Ventilation Unit (MVU) based out of Lyons. It was quite an intense operation with multiple agencies working together to get the fire under control.
I managed to snap some photos from the scene. Check them out below:

This shows one of the engines from the McCook Fire Department responding to the incident. The scale of the operation is evident here, with firefighters hard at work to contain the blaze.

Here's a broader view of the industrial fire in progress. You can see the extent of the damage and the significant effort being put into fighting the flames.

The Brookfield Fire Department also sent over reinforcements, adding extra manpower and resources to the mix. It's always great to see departments collaborating during emergencies like this.

There’s also a shot of the MABAS Mobile Ventilation Unit parked at the scene. This specialized equipment plays a crucial role in managing smoke and improving visibility for firefighters inside the burning building.

Finally, here’s a general overview of the entire operation. The coordination between different teams is impressive, especially given the size and complexity of the fire.
Let me know if you have any questions about what went down! I’ll keep you updated if anything new comes up.
Take care,
