What Makes Delfast's New Electric Bike Models Stand Out?
In 2020, Delfast introduced three enhanced e-bike models—Prime 2.0, Top 3.0, and Partner 2.0—that are considered upgrades to their previous versions. These models incorporate several common features, all of which were developed based on feedback from Delfast’s customers.
Carbon belt drive
First and foremost, all three models—Top 3.0, Prime 2.0, and Partner 2.0—feature a carbon belt drive, a significant improvement over the traditional bicycle chain. As Delfast’s Chief Engineer, Serhii Goncharov, points out, the chain is often the weakest link in an e-bike’s design. Regular chains typically last only a few thousand kilometers and require frequent maintenance and servicing.
Top 3.0
Delfast has now adopted a single-speed belt system, eliminating the need for complex transmissions. This results in a longer lifespan for the belt—up to 20,000 kilometers—and significantly reduces maintenance compared to the older chain-driven models. The belt drive is also lighter than conventional chains, making it a key feature in modern bike designs. Additionally, the belt drive operates silently, and the rear pendulum has been redesigned to allow easier adjustment of the belt tension.

Prime 2.0
The engineering team at Delfast also worked on improving the battery capacity, boosting it by 6%. This enhancement increased the range of the bikes to an impressive 370 kilometers. The new battery is a 48V 70Ah 13S 20P Samsung 3500mAh unit equipped with Bluetooth-enabled smart BMS technology.
Both the Prime 2.0, Top 3.0, and Partner 2.0 models come with an upgraded headlight featuring both low and high beam modes, ensuring safer rides, especially at night or in high-speed conditions. The high beam is particularly effective in illuminating distant paths, even in cloudy or rainy weather. This addition was made with the assumption that these bikes would be used year-round in various climates.
Partner 2.0
The updated models also boast a more powerful motor, now rated at 1500W with torque reaching 135 N.m, which is twice as efficient as before. Additionally, there’s a double-disc front brake system replacing the earlier single-disc setup, providing better stopping power and safety.
As a reminder, Delfast offers four financing options for customers: PayPal, available globally; Klarna and Affirm, for U.S. residents; and PayBright for Canadians. These flexible payment plans make it easier for people to access high-quality electric bicycles.
In conclusion, Delfast’s latest releases represent significant advancements in electric bike technology, focusing on durability, performance, and user convenience. Whether you're commuting daily or embarking on long-distance adventures, these bikes cater to diverse needs while maintaining top-tier quality standards.
