**Working Principle and Purpose**
As a pressure relief valve, the main valve is installed on a bypass line, parallel to the main pipeline. When the upstream pressure exceeds the pilot valve's set value, the main valve opens to release pressure until the system returns to a safe level. This helps prevent water hammer and ensures pipeline integrity. It is commonly used in fire hydrant systems, automatic sprinklers, and pump outlets where sudden pressure changes may occur.
As a pressure sustaining valve, the main valve is installed in series with the main pipeline. **Installation and Adjustment**
1. The main valve should be installed horizontally with the pump cover facing up. Ensure no stress is applied to the valve after installation.
2. Install a gate valve and filter before the main valve, and another gate valve after it for maintenance purposes.
3. Before commissioning, make sure the needle valve is open, the ball valve is closed, and all balance valves are fully opened. Adjust the pilot valve by loosening the lock nut and rotating the wheel clockwise to increase pressure or counterclockwise to decrease it.
4. Flush the pipeline thoroughly before filling it with water.
5. Regularly clean the micro-filter to ensure optimal performance.
