This equipment effectively reduces the concentration of suspended solids in wastewater, lowering the load on subsequent treatment processes. It also allows for the recovery of valuable substances from the wastewater.How It Works
The main body of the solid-liquid separator (spiral type) is a wedge wire stainless steel sieve or flat screen. When wastewater is evenly distributed over the inclined screen, solids are intercepted while filtered water flows through the slots. At the same time, the solids are pushed to the bottom of the screen and discharged using hydraulic power. The reason for interception is that the surface of the screen has small, smooth slots, while the back side has larger ones.
After separation, the solids are transferred to a spiral press for dehydration, reducing moisture content to about 40%.
