This equipment is designed to effectively reduce the concentration of suspended solids in wastewater, thereby lowering the load on subsequent treatment processes. It also allows for the recovery of valuable substances found in the wastewater.How it Works
The main component of the solids and liquid separator (spiral type) is a wedge wire stainless steel sieve or flat screen. When wastewater is evenly distributed across the inclined screen, solid particles are intercepted while filtered water flows through the slots. The solids are then pushed to the bottom of the screen and discharged using hydraulic power. This happens because the surface of the screen has small, smooth slots, while the back side has larger ones.

After solid-liquid separation, the solids are transferred to a spiral press for dehydration. Following this process, the moisture content can be reduced to as low as 40%.
