AWS A5.20 E71T-1C is specifically designed for producing x-ray quality welds in flat, vertical up, horizontal, or overhead positions. It is ideal for welding low carbon and mild steel, as well as structural and pressure vessel grades. The flux core formulation allows for fast freezing slag, which makes it suitable for out-of-position welding. The bead contour is flat to slightly convex, and the slag is easy to remove with minimal spatter, making post-weld cleaning straightforward.
