Cincinnati Extrusion Technology Co., Ltd. will be showcasing its high-speed extrusion equipment at K2007 in Germany this year, highlighting the impressive performance of its ARGOS 135 parallel twin-screw extruder. This machine is capable of achieving extrusion speeds of up to 6 meters per minute, making it a top choice for high-volume production. The ARGOS 135 has already been successfully implemented by two leading manufacturers. One is a global leader in door and window profile production, where they use a double-cavity system running at 6 m/min. Two KONOS72 conical twin-screw coextruders from Cincinnati are also in operation, and the entire ARGOS 135 line reaches a throughput of 1200 kg/h. Thanks to advanced mold design and internal cooling technology, the line speed is 30% higher than the standard 4.5 m/min, ensuring smooth and reliable continuous production. All three extruders are managed through an integrated control system, which simplifies operation and improves efficiency. The compact design of the KONOS machines ensures a short melt flow path between the extruder and the mold, further enhancing performance. Another notable application is at ALUPLAST in Wartberg/Krems, Austria, where the ARGOS 135 was used with an 8-cavity mold from Greiner. This setup enables simultaneous high-speed extrusion of 6 m/min, equivalent to 48 m/min per cavity — a first in the plastic extrusion industry. The machine's 4-axis drive system ensures maximum torque transmission, allowing it to reach peak production levels. Its 8-step series thrust bearings can handle up to 500 bar of back pressure, especially useful when using co-extrusion dies. To maintain precise temperature control of the screw core, all extruders are equipped with Cincinnati’s maintenance-free Intracool internal cooling system. As a specialist in extrusion, Cincinnati continuously improves its equipment’s control systems. They have developed a Windows XP-based internal computer system with a touchscreen interface, offering a user-friendly and efficient way to manage operations.
