The fire at 8032 South Hermitage, initially reported as a 2-11 alarm, has now turned fatal. A 45-year-old woman was pulled from the flames by Chicago Fire Department (CFD) crews just after they arrived on scene. However, she had already suffered severe burns and smoke inhalation.
